WEALTH/ABUNDANCE

What is true wealth? Is it not abundance in every aspect? Is being wealthy not enjoying an abundance of all that is wonderful - love, health, joy and happiness, as well as money enough to feel free to choose what we do with our days?

This section is about pursuing an abundant and wealthy life for ourselves and our loved ones. Abundance begins with a feeling - a knowledge inside that the Universe is abundant and that we are all deserving of our fondest dreams and ambitions. For those of us who were not raised with this deep knowing, the good news is that it can be cultivated. We can work on increasing our ‘wealth mentality’ and we can cultivate feelings and thoughts of abundance. Although the difference is one of perspective, the results can be profound, changing our lives forever - for the better!

Here are some concepts to ponder:

  • We tend to get in life what we think we deserve
  • Many of our core beliefs came from our upbringing, rather than by deliberate consideration and choice
  • What we believe is possible affects how we behave and how we interact with others
  • Much of everyday life is lived on ‘auto-pilot’
  • Money is inert - it is metal and paper, or even numbers in the ether - and has no emotion attached to it
  • Money tends to stick with people who love it and take care of it
  • Skill in attracting, creating and growing financial abundance can be learned
  • Limiting beliefs, once unearthed, can be replaced intentionally with empowering beliefs, in turn affecting our behaviors

Because wealth and abundance begin on the inside, we must begin our journey there, contrary to popular belief (and practise). To demonstrate this principle so that it makes sense and you truly believe it, consider a person who has inherited a wealth of money but who is bereft of love and has no true friends. Although this person may have the money to buy many material things, they will have no interpersonal connections if they don’t personally forge those connections.

Consider also the person who may work hard for decades to triumph financially in life, but who wakes up one day to find they have made themselves sick with hard work and personal neglect … all the money in the world cannot buy good health. Money can certainly buy medical care, but there are many things money just cannot do for us - it cannot purchase the warmth of love and true friendship; it cannot give us clean, shiny insides created only with the care that comes with self-love and respect.

Everything wonderful begins inside of us. All of our thoughts gather over time and create the ’stuff’ of our lives, and the nature of those thoughts and beliefs determines what surrounds us.

A life filled with magnificent abundance means NOT having to choose between love or money, or work and children, or relationship vs. career, etc.. True wealth means choosing for ourselves what is important to us, and then pursuing that with wholehearted passion and love. It means having an abundance of everything that makes us happy and fulfilled, and appreciating every moment of it. It means that instead of saying “That’s not possible” we consistently say “How can I make that work?”

To help you explore your possibilities, expand your allowing and align yourself with the abundance you want, here are some very effective resources to start with:

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill:This is a classic in success and wealth-building literature, and has been read by countless people in the generations since it was written in 1937. Many, many successful people today count this book as instrumental in their development. This book was written by Mr. Hill after interviewing and soaking up the wisdom of the multi-millionaire successes of his time, and it contains much practical wisdom. It also contains gems about training our subconscious minds, forming mastermind groups, and much more. This book has stood the test of time and is as relevant today as it always has been. Enjoy!

The Richest Man in Babylon by George Clason: This little book is another gem worth reading. It deals with the principles of building wealth, and the mindset necessary to do so. Recommended by the wonderful Jim Rohn among many others, if you can find this it’s definitely a great addition to your library.

Give it a try.

Accept Your Abundance by Randy Gage: Get ready to challenge your beliefs about money and the rich. This tough and honest book takes a hard look at how we are raised and the lack mentality that is so pervasive in our society. An excellent ‘wealth mentality’ expansion tool.

It is not religious; rather it deals with our spiritual selves and the possibilities we open for ourselves when we learn to think like the Source from which we came…whatever that may be! Wayne Dyer is a master at manifesting abundance and wealth as well as happiness and peace of mind - do yourself a favor and get this book!
